The 2006 Cadillac CTS is an entry level luxury sport sedan with excellent handling,sharp reflexes,powerful V6 engine,roomy interiors and a variety of quality equipments.
The Cadillac CTS is the first car featuring the modern generation Cadillacs. It was introduced in 2003 in an attempt to regain the lost glory of Cadillac in luxury cars segment.

The 2006 Cadillac CTS is a revised edition of 2005 Cadillac CTS,only minor changes were made to the 2005 model. The upgrades to the 2005 model include some tire and wheel packages,sport tuned suspensions,stability control system,tire pressure monitor,upgraded brakes and XM Nv Traffic system. The 2006 Cadillac CTS is better than any previous Cadillac models because of its ever improved handling,better tuning and a very responsive steering.The CTS model is offered in only one trim,but buyers can choose between various options to upgrade their ride according to their wish. As regards the market, CTS is facing a very tough competition in entry level luxury sports sedan,major competitors being BMW'S 3 series, Audi A4 and Acura TL. The Cadillac CTS is offered in three trims; 2.8 comes with a DOHC 2.8 L V6,3.6 Comes with 3.6 L DOHC 3.6 L V6 and CTS-V comes with OHV 5.7 L V8 engine.

2006 Cadillac CTS Interiors

Due to its spacious cabin Cadillac Cts never seems to be an entry level luxury sedan,instead it looks like a larger midsize luxury sedan. The seats provide an exceptional comfort,support and adjustment. The design is'nt exceptional and these are the points where its rivals beats it. The cabin is moderatley quiet with some mild wind hissing heard while cruising at highways. The instruments are simple and very useful. The gauges are clear and visible in any condition. Steering wheel is provided with a variety of controls. The build quality of interiors is very good but again doesnt match the quality of its rivals. But all these things should'nt disappoint a Caddi fan because all of these facts can be neglected and are'nt a big deal.

The optional equipment is offered in various packages and buyers can choose from them. Here i am mentioning all the options available but not the packages,equipment that is already installed in CTS-V means that it is meant for 2.8 and 3.6 Trim. The various options include xenon headlights,navigation system,power sunroof, Bose premium audio system, split folding rear seat, polished alloy wheels, heated front seats with lumbar adjustment, 8-way power passenger seat, driver-seat and mirror memory, wood/leather-wrapped steering wheel, antiskid system, upgraded brake pads, variable-assist power steering, sport suspension and load-leveling rear suspension.

2006 Cadillac CTS Handling And Drivetrain

The Cadillac CTS is a true sports sedan and offers something which is different from all popular but stereotypic models. It truly entertains the driver with its sharp reflexes and obedience to the driver. The 2.8 L engine is'nt much fun as compared to the 3.6 L V6. With smooth manual shifts the true sports character is highlighted. For the enthusiast the best deal is the 5.7 L OHV CTS-V, with brisk take offs and swift cruising this a true luxury sports sedan. The suspension is quite absorbing in nature and reduces a fair deal of bumps on rough surfaces. The handling is very good as previosuly mentioned and doesnt let the driver complain about it,but instead of tilt steering wheel it would have been better if Cadillac opt for Telescope feature,for added driver convenience and comfort.

2006 Cadillac CTS Braking And Safety Specifications

All the CTS are equipped with 4 wheel Antilock Disc brakes,front side air bags and rear side curtain bags. Traction control is standard on all vehicles but stability control is optional. CTS-V comes with additional features such as stability control,tire pressure monitor and upgraded and refined brakes.
