2006 Ford Mustang now eliminates most of the bad pony car characteristics and has greatly improved the appeal of it for the drivers. New styling of exterior is also reflected in the interior styling with new cabin features.

Interior

Interior design is revised and Ford has done really well in doing so. The interior has a sport touch with crispy appearance and easy to use equipment. There are two left and right pods just like those found on the 1967 mustang with a modern touch. The gauges and the vents with chrome rings are aligned in line across the dash board. A three spoke steering wheel with a horse marked center hub with tricolor logo increases the interior styling.

Some of the materials used may have a cheaper look but since high styling is offered in a less priced coupe the package is not bad at all. Still if the driver is unhappy he has options of interior upgrading. These packages give a dark finished or satin inserts which eliminates this cost saving look and feel of the interior. One of the packages also give body color interior such red door inserts, red leather seat covers, red colored floor mats for a red mustang.

Instrument Panel

Instrument panel comes with a wide range of colors to choose from in the new 2006 Mustang. Metal on the dash board and the steering wheel causes glare in the day light so this option is very good for most of the buyers. They can use dark and dull colors to avoid extra glare plus the instrument panel can be of driver’s choice.

Cabin Space & Seats

Ford Mustang has a much longer wheel base and larger size then before which creates better leg, shoulder, and hip room inside the car. The new Mustang is roomier than nay of its predecessors. The bucket seats in the front are comfortable and provide good solid support while cornering. However the rear 2+2 seat has become a little lesser comfortable than before and only small people can fit in properly.

Trunk Space

There is a good amount of luggage space in Mustang as is found in good sedans and it is further increased with the folding rear seat.

Sound System

The base audio system on 2006 Ford Mustang sounds good. It can be upgraded to 500 watt speakers with a reasonable price. 1000 watt upgrade that rocks the car is also available but the subwoofer takes away some cargo space from the trunk.

Convertible Roof

Folding roof top in the Mustang convertible is very easy to operate. Simply unhook the roof from windshield header and press the power button to fold it behind the back seat.
