2006 Honda Civic Lineup

Honda has launched a good number of civic models in 2006 line up. New efficient and performance engines have been introduced for the entire model line up. The engine options for the 2006 models are a follows.

Engines and Transmission

The DX, LX and EX coupes and sedans both have a 1.8 liter four cylinder inline engine generating 140 horsepower along with a manual 5 speed transmission.

To opt for an automatic transmission you need to spend an extra $800. A more power full car than the ones above is the Si coupe. This performance package comes with a 2.0 liter 197 horse power 4 inline cylinders engine. The transmission offered is a manual 6 speed. The hybrid model has a 1.3 liter 4 cylinder engine coupled with a magnetic electric motor. A continuous varying transmission comes with this hybrid.

DX Sedan and Coupe

DX sedan costs $14,560 and DX coupe costs $14,360. The features include power window, telescope and tilt steering wheel, height adjusting driving seat and a window integrated antenna for radio in the rear.

LX Sedan and Coupe

LX sedan costs $16,510 and LX coupe costs $16,310. The standard features are, central car locking system, power mirrors, cruise control with the cruise engage buttons on the steering wheel, sliding arm rest on the new centre console, overhead lights, FM/CD/AM four speaker 160 watt MP3/WMA stereo that has a speed sensitive automatic volume control, floor mats and extra pockets behind front seats.

EX Sedan and Coupe

EX is the best of the line up and both the sedan and coupe come for $18,260. The EX has all the standard features of LX but also has its own ones such as, power moon roof, variable wipers for windshield; power outlet of 12 volt, rear seat is 60/40 split folding, 350 watt seven speaker XM ready sound system, audio controls on the steering wheel, and a temperature sensor telling the outside temperature.

A package costing $1750 upgrades the car with a satellite XM radio and a navigation system. Automatic transmission is also another option available instead of manual.

Si Coupe

Si coupe base model will cost under $20,000 and has all the features provided for LX coupe and some extra ones such as, gear knob and steering wheel have leather on them, headlights have an amber tinted trim, and the coupe also has a spoiler in body color. Options for upgrade are navigation system along with a satellite XM radio and high performance tiers.

Hybrid Sedan

Honda Hybrid costs $21,850 and has all the standard features of LX sedan. Additional features include radio antenna which is mounted on roof instead of rear, auto climate control, rear spoiler and digital hybrid pertinent data displays. The optional upgrades include a navigation system costing $1500.

Accessories and Upgrade Packages

The optional car accessories have 16 inches alloys for $876, exhaust tips made of chrome for $119 and aero style add on for exterior body of sedans.

Honda Factory Performance upgrade packages include the following.

Si Honda Factory Performance upgrade packages

This package comes for $3880 and has rigidly tuned shocks which have lowered springs, a sporty muffler, 18 inches alloys, a Honda Factory Performance emblem and an aero body kit for the entire car.

LX/EX Honda Factory Performance upgrade packages

This upgrade package costs $3680 for sedan owners and $3183 for the coupe owners of both LX and EX models. It has 17 inches alloys, rear spoiler is added and the muffler is dropped.
