The base Pontiac like any other sports car is a two seat roadster which has a four cylinder 177 horse power engine and a manual 5 speed transmission. Well there isn’t any electronic stability system and very less passenger safety in the Pontiac Solstice but with some extra cost ABS braking system can be added to it.
2006 Pontiac Solstice has a very curvy body styling and you will not find any flat surface on it. The only flat body part stamped into the body that you will see on this car is a small sheet metal behind front wheel’s well.
The rest of the body is formed by a process known as hydro-forming. In this system the sheet metal is subjected to very high pressure water which presses it forming a mold. This is a slow process, done on small volumes and requires extensive labor but it gives Pontiac a real idealized sports car out of a concept. The hydro-forming process generally gives a much stiffer chassis. The stiffer the Chassis the smother the ride and sharper is the handling. 2006 Pontiac Solstice has a coup top giving it a decent aero dynamic look.
First sight will reveal that the car is a 2006 Pontiac Solstice by sole clues that is an emblem and two-piece iconic grille dominating the front end. The front has no bumpers and it is curved. The head lamps and the fog lights are dug in the upper and lower ends of the front curve. The hood stretches elegantly to the cowl. Seemingly, the front look of the 2006 Pontiac Solstice is just like first Chevrolet Corvette. Resemblance of the rear with that of lotus Elise is also easily noticeable.
The taillights are placed at the top of the rear fenders below which there are combination of reflectors and parking lights. There is one chromed tip for exhaust in the right end of the car.
Being a sports car there is small storage capacity but the way the trunk opening and closing works is a some what interesting. An extra effort is required to open the trunk lid when the top is up and raising and lowering of the top itself too. One button will open three latches, one is in the centre of the trunk, rest beneath two side wings. Fold up the wings, open the trunk lid, and to close the trunk reverse this process and always latch both of the wings. Well interesting isn’t it and takes less than a minute.
2006 Pontiac Solstice has finally arrived in the auto market. The Pontiac is a very eye catching, two doors, convertible sports car that costs less than $20,000. If you actually want to add all the additional upgrades the cost of the car only jumps to $25,000.

For most of the drivers the base 2006 Pontiac Solstice delivers the most. It is a joy ride, easy to drive and pretty fast too.
