The 2006 Pontiac Solstice has more weight in fact 400 pounds more than Mazda Miata and the engine of Pontiac provides only 7 more horsepower plus 26 foot pound additional torque. All the extra input actually takes the 2006 Pontiac Solstice flying of the start line but once it goes underway the acceleration and speed gain is not that handsome. Engine exhaust sounds good too but it didn’t agitate. The exhaust system couldn’t quite mask out the mechanical sounds underneath and the engine itself.
Shifting the gears abruptly up and down on a curvy road definitely told the story about Pontiac having a very good transmission. The accelerator and brake pedals are tuned to perfection with the power produced by the engine. Clutch travel is certain. While sifting in or out of the reverse and at low speeds the connection lash is leaked into the car’s cabin. The clutch pedal has a continuous buzz and prevents the driver to ride it during the time between shifts. But the shift-throws are sure are short because of which it is no problem to figure out in which gear you are currently traveling in or which one to select.
2006 Pontiac Solstice has provided a very good steering capability though it falls a little short of Miata’s crispy steering.
2006 Pontiac Solstice offers a softer suspension than Miata. The softer suspension has both positive and negative impacts. The positive ones are that the pavement regularities are soothed out easily by such suspension. The price to pay is that there is a noticeable fluctuation at the rear end during sweepers especially at high speeds even after 2006 Pontiac Solstice has a wider track i.e. has more distance between the right and left wheel than the Miata. Well it’s a general motor trait that rear and front suspensions play in same band but different beats,
Entering into a curve it is smooth but if it is pushed too hard than it intend to turn over. This though can be countered if you apply gas very carefully. €
It may not break any records but it is a very sweet combination of sports car elements that have been forgotten. Pontiac gives a very nice looking sensuous sports car that will give a very good sport experience. People living at places where there are four seasons might want an electronic stability program to be offered in 2006 Pontiac Solstice at least as an optional feature like in Miata.
2006 Pontiac Solstice has good power, reactive steering capability, strong solid braking, no cowl shakes, and very good handling makes it just slightly lesser to be called a blast. The fun ride with its power boost leaves broad smiles on the driver’s face.
